
Some appreciation for the Woolwich Ferry.
This two-boat service provides a cross-river shuttle in the middle of a large gap between road bridges in East London, from North Greenwich to Woolwich.
Due to an act of Parliament, this is one of the few modes of transport TfL is obligated to run – which was brought to light when they suffered funding difficulties during COVID in 2020.
The Superloop bus network reaches the northern terminal but sadly in Woolwich another bus towards Abbey Wood and Thamesmead would be required, if continuing a full circumnavigation of London.
Two new vessels, the Ben Woollacott and the Dame Vera Lynn, were delivered in 2018.
