This is Lane End in Hatfield, it previously led from some isolated farms towards the A1 and Bullen’s Green.
Now it is surrounded by houses as the estates of South Hatfield have expanded around it!
You can see on the side by side map below, the difference between the 1950s (when construction was just starting on the New Town) to today!
