I found the brackets on the arrow here in Duns interesting…!
Duns of course is an interesting place in itself, currently residing in the Scottish Borders but historically being part of Berwickshire.
Berwick was in Scotland at that point, but in 1482 when Berwick-upon-Tweed became part of England, Duns was at some points the county town. Which says a lot about the area, considering how small Duns is!
