Yesterday on the way back from the Chinnor diesel gala we decided to take a look at the latest goings on in Aylesbury, particularly the SEALR (South East Aylesbury Link Road). Above is looking east from Lower Road, directly opposite the end of the new Stoke Mandeville Bypass.

Looking closer, you can see further along the course of the SEALR. Visible in the distance is the construction of the bridge over the Chiltern line.

Driving south into Stoke Mandeville, as one of the two footpaths has been closed, a pair of temporary pedestrian crossings have been set up!

Now driving south on Wendover Road, the lights at this pedestrian crossing have green ahead arrows, maybe so we don’t try and go the wrong way around the partially-built roundabout!

East of Wendover Road, a part of the ring road is open but unsigned, and looks a little sinister…

…but if you follow the road around…

…you reach some show homes for Hampden Fields West.

Showhomes inspected, we returned back to the main road…

…and were concerned about whether we should drive round, or through, the wheel washer. The amount of mud on the road implied that none of the construction vehicles use it!

And just like that, we were deposited back onto the old Aylesbury road network, marvelling at how quiet Stoke Hammond is now it has no through route to Risborough and High Wycombe!
Below is a map with some red dots indicating the position of each photo.
